Why I’m running…
I’m running for Alaska State House of Representatives to work towards bringing sustainable energy cost reduction, consistent first responder services, sustained wildlife, and better educational outcomes to rural areas in Alaska.
Family
James was born Oregon and grew up working in the family business. In 2002 he moved to Glennallen Alaska with his wife Tricia and three kids. They became foster parents and through that service adopted three more children. Family and family values are very important to James and he wants to work at making sure that our communities are safe and thriving so there are opportunities for our kids in our communities.
Service
Ever since James reached adulthood he has looked to serve his community. James served 12 years on the local school board. During those years he first started out as assistant coach of the Glennallen boys high school basketball team and then moved on to be head coach for 10 additional years capturing two state titles in those years. James currently serves on the Alaska State Board of Education and Early Development and has been on that board for over 10 years. James is committed to serve the people of his community and those he represents.
Guiding Principles
A Conservative Libertarian believing that less government is better for our communities. More choices in education is better for our families. Government should work for the citizens they serve. Support safety and wellness in our communities. Resource development in a responsible manner.
